Trending Balances by Fund

Information

Purpose

This dashboard provides financial balances over time for units in ALVSCE using different views and methods for calculating balances.  These reports are designed for high-level planning and budgeting conversations. This report shows the ending balances by unit and sub-fund, starting FY14 by fund balance.  This is consistent with the All Funds Views on the Trending Balances dashboard.  Please see the Data Source Information below.

Default Fund Group Filters

  • The filter for Fund Group defaults to selecting State, Designated, Designated - IDC, and Auxiliary, consistent with balance reports provided by the Provost's Office.

Data Source Information

Links to UAccess Analytics reports and how to filter them in order to see the balances in these reports in the system of record are provided below. For all three views, you will need to filter to Period Number 13 and the appropriate Fiscal Years and Organization Codes.  Provisioning for the financial subject area, BI_FS_MED, is needed to view the UAccess reports.

Filter Information for All Funds View

These balances can include also include liabilities, such as accounts payables. To see the corresponding balance in the system of record, filter the Assets, Liabilities, and Fund Balance report using Object Code 9900.  This view is also consistent with the Beginning Fund Balance and the Balance Before Encumbrances columns in the ALVSCE Available Funds report.

 

Note: A dialog box will appear in the center of the dashboard to confirm the Download; you may need to scroll back up to the dashboard to click Download.

Note: For the PDF or PP downloads, choosing the option of "This View" will download the entire dashboard, including filter buttons. To just download the graph, click on "Specific sheets from this dashboard" and then choose the graph that is currently showing. Make sure the graph on the dashboard matches the sheet name you've chosen to download. You may need to adjust the scaling for the graph to print on one page.

More Information

  1. Scroll to the report section
  2. Click the Sign in to TABOR BI button in the middle of the report section
  3. When/if prompted, select The University of Arizona as the institution, check to "Remember my choice," and click the Select button
  4. Sign-in using your usual NetID credentials
  5. If you do not have permissions to view the data but would like to request it, please send a ticket to the Planning, Consulting, and Data Solutions Team
