AES Income vs Expense Detail
Information
Purpose
This dashboard provides financial balances for the current year, up to the selected Fiscal Month/Period, consistent with the ALVSCE Quarterly Available Funds process.
Monthly Updates to Data
The previous month's financial information is added the first Saturday after the 7th of every month.

- Additional detail is available by hovering over the data points.
- The download option includes the YTD for the current year and month 13 ending balances for prior years back to 2014.
Default Fund Group Filters
- The filter for Fund Group defaults to all, consistent with AES' Zero Based Budget process.
Definitions
Beginning Balance: Funds carried over from the previous year and are available for use in the current fiscal year. The beginning balance in Sponsored accounts is set to $0.
Income: New income deposited to an account, and includes transfers in. For Sponsored Projects, income equals expense.
Expenses: New expenses posted to an account, and includes transfers out.
Current Ending Balance: Beginning Balance + Income - Expenses at the end of the month.
Encumbrances: System-generated planned expenses through the current fiscal year, generally including payroll, purchase orders, and facilities and administration (F&A).
Projected Balance: Current Ending Balance - Encumbrances.
This information is consistent with the financial information used in the ALVSCE Available Funds report. For Sponsored accounts, adjust the beginning balance to $0 and the income to equal expenses.
