Staff show the power of community giving at the first annual ALVSCE Gives Back Week

Nov. 26, 2024

From October 27th through November 2nd of this year, ALVSCE Staff Council excitedly announced the commencement of the first annual ALVSCE Gives Back Week, an opportunity for us all to embody the ALVSCE divisional value of compassion and give back to our communities beyond what we do every day.

In the spirit of the week, ALVSCE Staff Council coordinated a Ben’s Bells activity and a morning of service at the Southern Arizona Food Bank.

Staff members participated at the Ben’s Bells studio on Main Gate at the University of Arizona campus. The group received glowing feedback, with everyone expressing how much they enjoyed the experience. Volunteers contributed to the creation of Ben’s Bells, which are distributed in communities to spread kindness, as well as “Be Kind” coins, which are sold in shops to support the organization’s open art studios and kindness education programs. Staff members also participated in filling food boxes at the Southern Arizona Food Bank with the amazing number of 2431 boxes completed.  In addition, an ALVSE colleague reported that she volunteered at her local Benson Animal Shelter where she helped with cat and dog care and enrichment.

All activities were very meaningful and rewarding opportunities to give back while promoting the values of kindness and community.  Way to go ALVSCE Staff!
