What is the Award?
The College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences (CALES) Bart Cardon Sustained Excellence in Teaching Award was created to recognize and honor unusual dedication and outstanding performance by a member of the CALES teaching faculty who has been teaching for more than 10 consecutive years at the University of Arizona. Recipients will be honored at the ALVSCE Awards Celebration, where they will receive a plaque and a check for $1,000. The award is open annually for nominations that may lead to selection of one or more awardees, but awards may not be made in all years.

Who can Nominate?
Nominations are open to any unit head, faculty, staff, student, or student organization within the College of Agriculture, Life, and Environmental Sciences. Each department/unit is welcome to submit multiple nominations. We also welcome and encourage self-nominations. We strongly encourage nominations and self-nominations for faculty on career- and tenure-track appointments across all areas of focus, regardless of degree, if they meet the eligibility requirements. Additionally, we value and support nominations of diverse teaching faculty and those engaged in a wide range of instructional activities. CALES is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and respectful community.
