Creative Services
We partner with CALES staff and faculty to design clear, effective, and on-brand communications that support college programs, events, and initiatives.
Our work is collaborative and intentional. We focus on understanding your goals, audience, and constraints to create design solutions that work, not just visuals that look good.
Custom design support
From professionally-printed materials to larger strategic initiatives, we create designs tailored to your needs.
Submit your request and we'll set up a discovery session. Be prepared to talk about your project's deadline, printing budget, finalized text for materials and any photos or assets that are already available. Review the budgets and project timelines section for typical lead times and ensure we can meet your deadline.
Design process
1. Request: Submit the online form with your deadline, budget (for print), final copy, and assets.
2. Discovery: We’ll meet briefly to confirm goals, audience, scope, and constraints.
3. Design & review: Design concepts are developed and refined. Feedback should be consolidated to keep the project moving.
4. Final & production: Final files are prepared and print projects are coordinated with a vendor when applicable.
Editing, proofreading, and revisions
Creative Services does not provide copywriting or proofreading. You are responsible for ensuring all text is final and approved, including spelling, grammar, names, dates, phone numbers, URLs, and program details.
To stay on schedule, feedback and revisions should be consolidated and focused. Significant copy changes or late content may affect timelines.
We recommend that content be reviewed internally or by the Communications & Marketing team before submitting a request.
Budgets and project timelines
Need custom design support? Submit a request and we'll set up a discovery session to talk about your project's deadline, printing budget, finalized text for materials and any photos or assets you have to share.
Budget: While design services are provided free of charge, printing costs must be covered by your project's budget. Understanding needs like size, quantity or paper style at the start help us make the right design choices and choose vendors that work within your budget. Printing timelines and costs are determined by the vendor.
Timeline: The estimates below assume that all required information and approvals are provided at the start of the project. Changes to scope or content may affect delivery dates. Printing typically takes 7–10 business days after a project is sent to the vendor.
